The review of equipment purchased for University of Nis

The new laboratory equipment for University of Nis was bought for the Laboratory for basic electronic. A new concept for laboratory work was developed based on the equipment given by the Tempus. The basic idea is to implement a computer as a substitution for a broad set of instruments that are needed for the measurements. In that way the computer is used as a substitute, concurrently, for: power supply, voltmeter, ampermeter, function generator, oscilloscope, curve tracer, network analyzer, etc. The photograph can be seen on the project's web page.

First of all the student are allowed to log on the server in order to get any information about the laboratory work, including theoretical preparation for the work. Parts of the textbook are available for reading online.

Second, the students are doing their measurements and preparing report guided by software that is based on LabView. Until now the following laboratory projects are finished and used by the student to their full satisfaction (compared with what is done elsewhere):

1. Semiconductor diodes characteristics
2. Bipolar Junction Transistor characteristics
3. Junction FET characteristics
4. MOSFET characteristics
5. h parameters measurement
6. Temperature stabilization of BJT.

Third, a separate software package is obtained as a donation from a local software company, which performs document management, report handling, and administration.
